Moms + Kids Private Shopping Event

The other day, Uniqlo held a private shopping event for mommy bloggers at Fahrenheit88. Ahhh… shopping. Just hearing the word gives me a jolt of excitement! :D

You probably know how much I love dressing up my girls and shopping for their clothes. I just love organizing and coordinating them into adorable little outfits. I think I’m a little obsessed, hence the #ayrarainalookbook on Instagram! :D

There was a mini contest on our social medias prior to the event, where participants need to answer 2 simple questions and 2 lucky winners will be chosen to join the private shopping event with RM200 shopping vouchers each! How fun is that?!

IMG_4473With one of my winners, @bellatrixue, who’s actually my ex-schoolmate in Taiping! When I found out she was one of the winners, I was like OMG I cannot believe it! Haha.

Anyway, Uniqlo opened their store extra early that day (8.30 am) just for us so that we can have the store all to ourselves before it opens to public. Felt so special. Hehe.

The first thing we saw when we went up to the kids’ section was this – balloon station!

IMG_4193This aunty is so “terer”. You can request for any balloon shapes; she can make it for you.
Flower, magic wand, heart shape, butterfly, lady bug, dog, bike, gun, sword, even Elmo! (Wonder if she can make balloon shoes too)

IMG_4194Ayra wanted a magic wand…

IMG_4191Nakisha’s girl got a butterfly. How cute is that?!

IMG_4202They also set up a photo booth with props.

And then the shopping began!

To be honest, that was my first time shopping for my kids at Uniqlo. I never really bothered to check out their kids collection before because I’m used to shop at my girls’ regular brands, which are mostly online from US. All I can say is, I’m definitely going to shop here again for my kids, especially their tees.

Ooohh their tees!

If you’re looking for cute and comfy daily wear tees for your kids, just go to Uniqlo. Seriously, they have so many selections of tees and tops, and they are so affordable (RM29.90 – RM39.90)!

Their most popular range is the UT graphic t-shirts. They even collaborated with Disney Project (they have Frozen tees!), Snoopy, Sanrio (Hello Kitty), author Leo Lionni, Mr. Men and Little Miss series, and Michael Bastian collection.

IMG_4306These are the Steteco (for boys) & Relaco (for girls) collection, which are shorts in the cutest prints! They are so light and comfy, which can be worn as loungewear or even outdoor.

IMG_4230Having a hard time deciding which printed cropped pants to get for Ayra. I finally let her choose herself (she chose pink, of course)

IMG_4225

IMG_4477Uniqlo, you guys want new kids models?

IMG_4355…coz you know, these two just love the camera (or at least mommy’s camera) hehe.

IMG_4370The event ended with brunch at Dome

IMG_4479With the other winner, @homelivingshop.
(Thanks for the gifts! My girls love the pink vespa thingy and said it was perfect for their dolls LOL)

So… here’s what I got for my girls – something chic and comfy!

For Ayra, I got her a white cardigan, navy blue top with ruffled hem and printed cropped pants; and for Raina, a pink cardigan, blue gingham top and white leggings. Apparently, you can get a lot with RM200 at Uniqlo!

IMG_4838Pink, white and blue #gengsilangkaki

I find Uniqlo sizing runs big – or maybe my girls are just so petite! For reference, Ayra, who is almost 7, wore the smallest size for cropped pants (for 4-5 years). Raina’s leggings is from baby/toddler section (size 90, which is supposed to be for 24 months baby! LOL). And those cardigans that they are wearing? They are also from toddler section - Ayra wore size 100 (3-4 years) and Raina wore size 90 (24 months). Hahaha! But whatevs, as long as the clothes fit well, right.

What I like most about Uniqlo clothing (besides the affordable price) is the variations. Each piece of clothing comes in a few other colors or prints and I really like that because, you know, when you like something, you just want to get it in every single color and print! Like that top with ruffled hem that Ayra is wearing, it also comes in other colors – white, grey, red and something else (can’t remember already). I really like that top and I think it’s perfect for layering and dressy enough to be worn on it’s own. I’m so gonna get more! I also like those cardigans because they’re lightweight (like t-shirts material) which is perfect for our hot weather. And yes, it comes in other colors as well.

Thank you Uniqlo for this fun shopping experience! We surely had a great time and my girls love their new outfits :)

Electric Blue + Gold

One of my favourite items from my recent FashionValet haul is this satiny loose jacket by Mia Mikhail. Just look at the gorgeous color! I think this shade goes well with a lot of colors – black, white, beige, tan, nude, gold, as well as bright colors like fuchsia and yellow.

I wanted to keep it low key so I wore it with neutrals and denim.

IMG_3254

This jacket comes in 3 other colors, as well as a printed version as seen on me previously. I just can’t get enough of jackets! Hehe.

IMG_2463aPaired it with Fluer Malaysia nude satin silk shawl and this gold Cucito necklace, also from FashionValet…
(finally managed to grab this necklace. It’s always out of stock on FV! Hot stuff, I’m telling you)

IMG_2469…and my gold Prada espadrille wedges. Wedges are my choice of footwear these days.

FashionValet is having GST Sale for the whole month of April and you can get 10% off all items, except for Scha x FV collection. Just enter “OKFINEGST” code at checkout.

Only a few more days left till April ends, you’d better hurry!

Getaway in Style

So there’s this contest that FashionValet x The Luxe Nomad are running for bloggers to win a stay at the luxury Paresa Resort Phuket.

I’ve seen the photos of the resort and it’s ah-mazing, guys.

I mean, just look – the view, the sea, the suite, the private pool and everything. Sigh… it’s so romantic.

I miss having a romantic getaway with my husband. The last time we had one was on our 5th wedding anniversary, which was 2 years ago. And it was only for a night. Tak cukup! Hehe. We’ve been busy being daddy and mommy (even to each other sometimes) that we somehow forgot to be just husband and wife. It’s kind of hard to do so when the kids are around. So really, I’d like to win a stay at Paresa Phuket on The Luxe Nomad with my man so we can spend some time together, just the two of us. Plus, it’s our birthday this month (our birthdays are only 11 days apart) so it’d be a perfect gift for the both of us.

I’ve already picked out a head-to-toe outfit from FashionValet that I’m going to wear on one of the days if I win this contest. Something casual and breezy but still chic, in light neutral tones with a pop of color.

FV
Top – Aere Oliva Oversized Buttoned Cuffs Top in Ivory
Bottom – Scha x FV Plumeria Skants in Peach
Scarf – dUCk Georgette Scarf in Chocolate Cookie Dough

This contest ends today tho, so hurry and blog about it now if you wanna join! Hehe.

They are going to choose 2 winners – the 1st prize is 4D3N stay at Paresa Phuket + RM1,000 FV voucher and the 2nd prize is 3D2N stay at Paresa Phuket + RM700 FV voucher.

So exciting!

Movies and Magnum Kinda Date

My girls wanted to spend a day at their Bi Teh and Ami Teh’s house yesterday, so I asked my sis-in-law and she was more than happy to welcome them. (In case you’re wondering, Bi is aunty and Ami is uncle – the same as Mak/Pak Teh. I guess it’s a Syed-Sharifah thing).

Hubs and I were like “yay, let’s go watch a movie!”.

I remembered my package from FashionValet that had just arrived a few days earlier, so I decided to wear them. Nothing like an impromptu date and a new outfit to wear! Hehe.

IMG_9849Grey, gold and tan combo

The waterfall printed jacket is from Mia Mikhail. I’m a big fan of lightweight jackets and it’s probably the only type of jacket I’d wear in this hot weather. My lemak is already thick, thank you very much.

IMG_9903

I paired the jacket with dUCk georgette scarf in Silver Dust. It’s actually my first georgette scarf from dUCk and so far it’s my favourite from their premium basic line. So easy to style and it drapes beautifully! I’m so gonna get more colors because I feel like I’ve been wearing way too much satin shawls now.

IMG_9920So silau. I need my sunnies.

IMG_9922

We ended up watching 2 movies back-to-back. Cinderella (my pick) and Chappie (hubby’s pick). Wasn’t expecting to enjoy Chappie, but I did (hubby only mentioned that Chappie is a movie about robots and I didn’t watch the trailer).

And then we ended our date with this…

IMG_9931Magnum Trifle at Magnum Cafe.

That, my friend, is the yummiest ice-cream dessert I’ve ever eaten. I actually wanted to have Magnum waffles or pancakes just like the one we had in Jakarta, but they don’t have those yet here. I chose the trifle instead and I’m glad I did.

It has layers of mascarpone cheese, cashew meringue, honey balsamic cream, fresh strawberries (and other berries I think), topped with white chocolate vanilla Magnum ice-cream. I mean, really, it’s everything I like in a dessert – meringue, cheese, cream, chocolate and berries. Heaven!

IMG_9939You’re supposed to stir everything up until they are well-combined before eating it. Just divine!

Anyway, the team at FashionValet is giving a 10% discount for my readers! Simply enter the code “IZAFVMAR” at checkout. This code is valid until 31st March 2015 and can be used for any items on www.fashionvalet.com except for Daniel Wellington watches, dUCk scarves and Sofina bags.

Happy shopping!

Rakuten Online Shopping Mall

RakutenLogo

Japan’s number 1 online shopping mall, Rakuten, is now available in Malaysia. It’s basically like a shopping mall, where they have different shops under one roof except… well, it’s online! They have heaps of products – over 100,000 products ranging from electronics, home and living, baby and maternity, books, fashion, beauty and many more. Heck, they even have food and beverages on their website!

If you’re looking for something for your home and family, do check out this website especially their beauty/cosmetic and kitchen sections (I have yet to khatam browsing everything on Rakuten. So many items!).

The first thing I saw on Rakuten website was “SK II” at their Hot Items tab (you know how much I love SK II!). I was impressed with their range of SK II products, especially the trial sets. I don’t think you can get them over the counter (unless if you purchase a certain amount of products), so this is great for those who want to try SK II for the first time or even for traveling.

As I browsed more, I saw SK II Facial Treatment Essence 215ml selling at cheaper than retail price (RM480 instead of RM565) and decided to purchase it right away. I also decided to purchase 1 piece of SK II Skin Signature 3D Refining Mask because I forgot whether I’ve tried that mask or not. Heh.

Purchasing from Rakuten is hassle-free and pretty straight forward. Add items to shopping cart, click checkout button, fill in your shipping details and proceed to payment page.

Screen Shot 2014-07-10 at 7.15.08 PM

They have a few payment options too – you can pay with your Visa or MasterCard credit cards, online banking (Maybank2u, CIMB Clicks, etc), ATM/Cash transfer, Celcom AirCash, COD (if merchant allows) and even Rakuten Super Points.

Once you’ve made the payment, an email will be sent to you with all your order details. They will email you again when your order has shipped together with the tracking number so you can track your package online.

I received my items after 5 days, which is not so bad. I don’t know about you, but I always get so excited when my package arrived. It’s like opening present! :D

IMG_8953Tadaa~ my daily essential. Can’t get enough of this stuff!

I received a note in the invoice saying that the Skin Signature 3D Mask is out of stock and that they will send it to me when it’s available. They ganti with SK II Facial Treatment Mask for the time being. That’s ok by me. Overall, it was a smooth shopping experience with Rakuten and I’m happy with my purchase!

Now, here’s a good news for my readers. Rakuten is giving away RM30 shopping coupon a.k.a RaCoupon for all my readers who signed up as Rakuten members. You can sign up here! Simply key in this coupon code “RAKUPINK30” at the payment page to receive RM30 discount for your purchase of RM120 and above. This coupon is only valid from 23rd July to 3rd August 2014 so hurry and use it!

On top of that, you can also join Rakuten’s Spend & Win contest where you can stand a chance to win prizes worth more than RM5,000 when you purchase anything from Rakuten Malaysia website. This contest ends on 31st July 2014 so there’s still time to join it! More details about the contest here.

Here’s a few merchants (and their items) that I would recommend, in case you don’t know where to get started:

1) BEAUTY DE HOME

This merchant sells a variety of skincare, fragrance and makeup products from various high end brands – Chanel, Lancome, Dior, Burberry and SK II, just to name a few (I purchased my SK II products from this merchant btw). If you’re new to SK II, I would recommend either one of these basic trial sets:

Rakuten1SK II Pitera Essence Set – RM213
SK II Trial Set 5  – RM210
SK II Trial Set 2 – RM155

2) BigSpoon Kitchenware

They have everything that your kitchen needs! Cookware, bakeware (saw a donut pan and immediately thought of Joy The Baker’s Double Chocolate Cake Doughnuts because she baked her doughnuts using donut/doughnut pan like this one), tableware, utensils, kitchen storage and cool specialty tools like the turning slicer in the pic below which can easily slice fruits, veggies, onions, cheese, etc into 5 different shapes. And how fun is that lattice cutter? I’ve never made pies and pastries before, but I might try and make one if I have it.

Rakuten3Donut Pan 6 Cups – RM12.46
KASSPO Turning Slicer – RM899
Plastic Lattice Cutter – RM11.90

3) MYND Furniture

Cool furniture and storage solution for your house. I love their jewellery cabinets especially. In fact, I have this exact Mirror Jewellery Cabinet in white, which I purchased from the same merchant some time ago.

Check out these other cool products from MYND Furniture:

RakutenMAGNO Side Pumping Mirror Jewelry Cabinet – RM799
Louis chair – RM489
Wooden Tower Bookshelf Organizer – RM269

You can go to Shop Directory to view the full list of merchants available on Rakuten website.

Rakuten is also having Raya Sale up to 70% off in conjunction with this festive season. Browse their Raya Sale here.
