The Little Red Dress

This red babyGap tulle dress just screams GORGEOUS! Perfect for special occasions, birthdays, or even Raya (it’s never too early to shop for Raya, right? ;p). Pair it with black tights and red ballet flats, and your little one would be the cutest fashionista!

Ayra usually wears size 18-24 months, but this dress runs small and doesn’t fit her well so I’m selling it for half the retail price. This dress is no longer available in stores and at Gap.com so if you wanna grab it, check out my blogshop at http://shoppersanctuary.blogspot.com!

Shoes shoes and more shoes!

When I first heard of Shoe Festival, I was like…

“SHOE FESTIVAL? WHAT SHOE FESTIVAL? WHEN? WHERE? ARE THERE SHOES ON SALE??”.

Of course there were.

I tweeted my girlfriend, asking her if she’d like to go – and well of course she would! Girls and shoes are inseparable! ;p So off we went to PWTC on a Sunday afternoon, while my husband had a taste of what it feels like to be a househusband! That was actually the first time he looked after the kids by himself (usually it’s my mother-in-law). I wasn’t really worried tho because he’s been helping me with the kids even when I’m around – like diaper changing, bathing, preparing milk for Ayra, warming expressed breast milk for Raina…those kinds of stuff.

So anyway, the Shoe Festival.

We arrived at around 1 pm and of course the place was jam-packed with people (and shoes!). The first thing that sprung to my mind when I saw the crowd was the fight scene in ‘Confession of a Shopaholic’ where Becky wrestled with another shopper at a sample sale for a pair of Gucci boots! But of course there was no shoe-fighting at the Shoe Festival.

This is Dr. Fatin (she blogs too!)

And this is Suraya (she hates the camera!)

I had high expectations for the shoe festival particularly because Dato’ Jimmy Choo launched it so I thought there would be lots of branded shoes on sale, or brands like Aldo, Nine West, Guess, OR at least local brands like Eclipse and Vincci. There weren’t. Most of the brands were unheard of (at least to us) and the only familiar ones were Zang Toi, Fiorucci, Nose, Sketchers and Carlo Rino.

But it was kinda fun feasting our eyes on so many types of shoes. Let’s start with Jimmy Choo, shall we?

Love the diamond-encrusted heel!

This Nyonya Shoe is made of chocolate!

Biggest capal ever (that is capal, right?)

Wood-carved shoes

Skyscraper shoes, anyone?
(I think those are 9-inch heels!)
Mask shoes

Dragonfly shoe

When we were done with feasting our eyes, it was time to feast our feet pulak!

“Is this sandal too girly?”

“Ok ke kasut ni?”

“What about this one?”

“This sequin shoe is kinda cool, doncha think?”

*undecided*

My favorite part of the Shoe Festival is the Footwear Design Competition! The shoes were all so quirky and it made me think, “How the heck did they come up with the ideas?”. So creative! I think these shoes would make a cool perhiasan kat rumah. No really, I’m serious! They should sell it la.

My favorite of all. Love the swirly design.
I think I would even buy it if it was on sale!

1st prize winner

Despite the limited brands of shoes, we managed to grab some from Fiorucci and Zang Toi. Mine are both black patent.

Love the Fiorucci’s snakeskin wedge heel! That’s the only reason why I bought them even though I know I cannot wear pumps (I can only wear slingbacks). But that’s okay, I will practice and do whatever it takes to be able to walk in them!

Speaking of which, I could really do with a foot spa. I was in 5-inch heels for 5 hours that day (we went to Jusco Taman Maluri later after that to have our late lunch) and I haven’t been taking good care of my feet.

This deal from Milkadeal.com looks interesting – RM38 for Classic Manicure + Spa Pedicure + Soothing Gel Feet Soak + Hands & Feet Massage & Cuticle Treatment. Can’t remember the last time I scrubbed and moisturized my feet; maybe it’s time!

Scarves

This is what happens when I’m in a hurry:

CRAP!!!

Thing is, it always happens to my favorite scarves. That’s the fifth favorite scarf so far, ruined by Mr. Iron. And I have only wore it three times! I don’t have a lot of scarves… Well ok, I did have quite a lot. I had about a hundred scarves – but that was before the iron ate 5 of them and before I decided I don’t want about half of the scarves I have (too dull, too lembik, too keras, too small, too big, too short, too long, haiyoo).

These are the only ones that I like at the moment.

Greens, blues and purples
Browns, oranges, reds and pinks

Blacks, grays, whites and plain ones

Most of my scarves are from Tie Rack, but I also have other brands including Mortada, Donatello, Warehouse, Next and also from pasar malam. I don’t wear expensive scarves one!

Oh by the way, did you notice I have the least number of pink scarves?
Yeah well, I like pink but I don’t really like to wear pink! ;D

Loving ASOS Dresses

There are only 2 reasons why I CANNOT resist online shopping from international websites:

a) massive sale, and
b) free shipping

The latter one rarely happens tho. So I was over the moon when I found out ASOS.com offers free delivery worldwide, including Malaysia! I mean, not many websites ship internationally, or even if they do, most of the time Malaysia is not included in the “international countries” (at least not the ones that I know of).

Yes, there are services like HopShopGo but the shipping cost is almost the same or sometimes more than the amount of purchased items. This free-shipping-worldwide offer by ASOS is like a dream come true for online shopping addicts like me. Yay ASOS!

Anyway I spent hours browsing ASOS and I am particularly interested with their dresses. One thing I love about ASOS website besides the detailed photos of a particular clothing is the catwalk video. I think it’s ingenious because it gives you a more precise view of the fit, length and drape of a garment. Makes it easier to imagine yourself wearing it too!

I love chic and feminine styles and here are some dresses which I think would suit hijab-wearing ladies. You can just shorten the hem of the dress if it’s too long and turn it into a top/blouse (which is what I’d normally do) or wear something inside if the dress is revealing at the back/sleeves.

Casual:

Dressy:

Special occasion/evening:

I purchased one dress from each of the casual and dressy types. Any guesses?

I also had my eyes on this fab shoe. Love the cut-out details and the wood effect platform and heels but sadly it’s out of stock! GAHHH!!!

Winners of the Gap Casting Call

Remember the Gap Casting Call which was held December last year?
Well, they finally found the next faces of babyGap and GapKids!

I was invited to the celebration and appreciation event where the winners were announced. It was a private event, held at babyGap KLCC a couple of weeks ago.

My girls were all dressed up in babyGap.

Raina wore a pink tulle hem dress

and the cutest ballet flats!

I love the skirt leggings that Ayra wore.
And she loves that graphic tee because there’s a cat on it!

The event started with a simple fashion show from babyGap and GapKids’ Spring 2011 collection. My god, it was the cutest fashion show I’ve ever seen and not to mention, the funniest! Ada yang malu-malu, ada yang macam blur, ada yang syok pusing-pusing banyak kali. The toddlers were the funniest! Mereka seperti tak faham kenapa semua orang pandang kat mereka sambil bersorak-sorak, but I bet they were enjoying the attention sebab sengih-sengih jer kat semua orang. Comel gila!

I had my eyes on Jarrod, the boy in the middle wearing the striped cardigan. He has such a sweet smile and he knows how to pose! I don’t know why but Jarrod reminded me of my nephew, Haris. Maybe the smile kot. Speaking of which, my sister Hanis just changed her blog to www.hanishaizi.com (sila belanja aku kasut sepasang! ;p)

Then it was time to announce the winners.

And the winners are…

Yay Jarrod is one of the winners!

There are 6 winners altogether and 2 of them are Malaysians – Jarrod and Mohammad Ezra. Their parents must be so proud to see their kids’ faces terpampang besar-besar on babyGap/GapKids’ window displays, huh!

Makan time
(the cheesecake is so yummy by the way)

I was given some Gap vouchers. Wee-hoo!

Of course I redeemed it straight away.
Rambang mata tengok semua baju comel!

My babyGap haul that day – some dresses and tops for my girls.

And of course… SHOES!
