A friend shared this on her Facebook wall and I just have to share it here!
I laughed out loud when I saw it. I could totally relate to it! And I know all mums, too (ahhh… the challenges of motherhood).
But this situation can actually come in handy, especially for unwanted phone calls like marketing and sales calls. Holiday package lah, new insurance policy lah, free stay at a hotel lah, bla bla bla. Happened to me the other day.
I was checking my email when I got a phone call from an unknown number. I picked up the phone as usual.
Caller: Hello, can I speak to Miss Nurul Iza?
Me: Yes speaking.
Caller: Miss Nurul, I’m calling from Bonus Link about this blablabla promo. Are you free to talk?
Me: Umm… okay. (Dalam hati sebenarnya “Alaaa not this crap again!”).
Then I looked at Raina who was happily playing puzzles on the iPad. I came closer and took the iPad away from her. Of course she cried and berpaut at my feet like the little kid in the illustration above. YES!
Me: Sorry, I can’t talk right now. My daughter is crying.
Caller: Ok, can I call you back later?
Me: No, it’s ok. *click*
It has been more than a week and he hasn’t called back.
