Blogging & Law Conference

My sister and I are going to attend this conference tomorrow.

I need to know my rights as a Blogger, and what I should do when cases like this happen.

Anyone else going?

Pilot of the day

Would you believe me if I say I fly an airplane?

Yup, I was the co-pilot on a Boeing-747 flight from KL to London about 2 weeks ago. It only took 20 minutes to arrive in London, and I didn’t get to go shopping there bcoz we flew back to KL the minute we touched down – bcoz it was a flight simulator! ;p

MAS was actually having a special session for Bloggers to experience a flight simulator program. It is an official flight simulator, where the same equipment is used by all MAS pilots for training purposes. I guess this program was like a crash course for us Bloggers.

This is the cabin

The Captain explained a few things but I couldn’t remember them all bcoz there’s just so many buttons and switches and whatnot, even on the ceiling! I wonder how many courses does it take for the pilots to memorize all those. I did asked the Captain whether they use all the buttons/switches/etc on each flight and… I think he said yes.

It was tempting tho; I feel like pressing each and every button just to know what would happen. But I dare not bcoz even tho we were not really flying, the whole aircraft thing is similar to the real thing – the pressure and everything (it is after all, a simulator). I had to remind myself for a million times that this was not like Daytona racing arcade game.

Ready to take off. Notice it was daytime.

Hari suda gelap. Mari pulang ke KL.

This computer controls the weather – day, night, rain, snow, there’s even tornado. Cool!

It was definitely one of the coolest experience I’ve ever had. My husband was green with envy bcoz he wanted to experience it so badly (he stayed in the car, looking after Ayra while I was in there). We were each given a certificate for the completion of the program (does that mean I can fly a real airplane now? ;p).

Btw, many people might not know this but the MAS Flight Simulator is actually open to public. If I’m not mistaken, one has to pay RM500 for a 15-minute session.

Ribena Purple Heart

Did you guys follow the love story of Berry and Lemon?
I did, and I think they are so cute. I wonder if they really were a couple….

Anyways, Berry wanted to impress Lemon by presenting the biggest monument of love – the Purple Heart – that he built as a Valentine’s Day gift, and I was invited to witness the momentous event (thanx Nuffnang!) which took place at the Concourse area of Sunway Pyramid.

I had this idea of wearing a yellow top while my husband wears purple to signify Berry and Lemon when I realized that I don’t have a single piece of yellow clothing in my closet. Come to think of it, I never had anything in yellow (except that BR bag and one scarf but those two don’t count as clothing).

We arrived there at 11am sharp and the first thing I saw was of course the gigantic Purple Heart that stood right in the middle of the concourse.

Henry Golding and Belinda Chee, the emcees.

There was some kind of a demonstration going on too. A few guys were holding purple banners that said things like “Love needs a little help”, “Do it for love”, “How big is your heart”, etc. They were actually helping Berry to build the Purple Heart! The heart was made of thousands of Ribena purple bottle caps that were donated by people from all around Malaysia. How impressive!

While waiting for the appearance of the celebrity fruit couple, hubby and I played some games. There were Ribena Perfect Match Throwing Game, Dice Game, Dance Game and Drinking Game. There were freebies and free Ribena drinks as well.

At about 12 noon, Berry and Lemon finally appeared. Berry presented the Purple Heart to Lemon but unfortunately, Lemon wasn’t really happy with it bcoz the heart was not fully completed. Everyone went like “oh-ohh”… There was still some empty spaces that needed to be filled with the purple bottle caps.

So Henry and Belinda asked for help from the crowd to collect more purple bottle caps…

The Purple Heart was then completed and Lemon was happy, and they both danced to their song (the Bollywood song). Everyone cheered. I love a happy ending :)

Us with the Purple Heart ;p

We were then led to TGV for the screening of New In Town movie.

FYI, this is the first time we get to go to the cinema to watch a movie after having a baby – which was like 2+ months? – so of course I was so looking forward to it. At first I thought it was a boring movie, but turned out it was funny! Especially the scene where that guy (I forgot his name already) tried to help Renee with her zipper bcoz she wanted to pee. God, that was hilarious! I really enjoyed it. Thanks to Ribena for the free tickets (and for the hotdog and popcorn and oh yes, Ribena drinks as well!).

Anyway, we went straight home after the movie ended bcoz my little girl is waiting for me (we left her with my PIL btw). I miss her already!

Ayra with some of Ribena freebies

Err gee, she looks like a boy. I am never gonna dress her in a blue romper again – at least not until her hair is fully grown!

Handbags and Cakes

The 3 of us went to Anya Hindmarch’s Tea & Cake party today, which is an event mainly untuk “menjamu mata sambil menjamu selera”.

This preggy mommy had a hard time deciding what to wear as the clothes that could fit her now are pretty limited, but in the end she settled for something as seen in her Chanel makeover! ;p Lantak… At least it’s nice to know I could still fit in my favorite top. Tee hee!

I didn’t bother to have a look at the bags even tho they were on sale, probably bcoz I just got a new AH bag yesterday… or it could be bcoz I was so swooned by the cakes! The macaroons especially (I like the green ones the most). I feel like I’m in a candy land! They’re so colorful and cute, and there’s even Anya Hindmarch bags and chocolates with its signature ribbon logo. How fab!

Later on, Hanis and Wani had a few trying-on sessions with the bags… and so did this little boy!
Let’s see which bags caught his eyes…

Btw each of us gets a goodie bag, which consists of some booklets and an Anya Hindmarch notebook. I’m not sure what to do with it – I might give it to my hubby, who he is a sucker for notebooks! haha.
