From flat to fabulous

Attended Dove’s event at DoubleTree by Hilton last month. They just launched their latest hair care range, the new Dove Volume & Nourishment.

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been struggling with flat hair almost all my life. I was born with naturally fine, wavy hair (pretty much like Raina’s), but as I get older, I noticed my hair becomes flatter and finer. The case gets worse especially after spending a whole day out because after wearing hijab for a whole day, my hair is further flatten with heat and grease. I never really tried anything tho because I’m so lazy and couldn’t be bothered to (heh), but Dove’s new Volume & Nourishment hair care range sounds pretty promising and simple.

I’ve heard of women doing back combing, using curling irons and even braiding their hair and leaving it overnight just so they can wake up with volumized hair. I’ve never done any of those as I wear hijab, but I can totally understand their concerns! I suppose having a bad hair day is kind of like the same as having a bad tudung day as it affects our confidence, or probably worse!

IMG_8226They showed a live experiment of how the new Dove Shampoo and Conditioner instantly adds volume to hair after washing.

The new Dove Volume & Nourishment hair range with Oxyfusion Technology contains oxygen-infused ingredient that instantly dissolves into the hair, giving deep down moisture, while adding up to 95% of volume, so women with dry, flat hair can have smooth, bouncy hair without having to worry about it being weighed down, even hours after washing. It’s a hair care savior! Best part is, this shampoo and conditioner is gentle enough for every day use. Smells nice and fresh too!

The Dove Volume & Nourishment range retails for only RM15 each for the shampoo (340ml) and conditioner (340ml), and is available nationwide. If you’d like more info on the products, or even get the product samples, you can log on to

Now it’s my turn to try this out and volumized my hair! :)

Raya 2015

Oh my God guys, I have totally forgotten about my blog – what with puasa, raya shopping, balik kampung and everything! Haha #worstbloggerever #doesanyoneevenreadblogsanymore #sorrytoomanyhashtags #canthelpit #iblameinstagram #okfineillstop :P

This year’s Raya is my husband’s turn so we went balik kampung Loqstaq a few days before Raya (4 days to be exact) and spent a week there. I don’t have any complaints (it’s always fun to go beraya in kampung IMO) except… THE JOURNEY BACK TO KL TOOK A FREAKING 12 HOURS! Sigh. Kalau naik kapal terbang dah boleh sampai Turki agaknya. Hehe.

My girls were fine tho, during the journey. No, they were more than fine. They were enjoying it! They spent the first 6 hours talking and singing and playing ponies non-stop, and the next 5 hours or so sleeping. I couldn’t sleep because I wanted to keep an eye on my husband, in case he dozed off or something (Nauzubillah), so you can imagine how super exhausted (and cranky) I was by the time we reached home, which was around 4am!

Screen Shot 2015-07-28 at 12.15.05 AMI guess it’s never boring when there’s ponies around ^_^

IMG_9050They spent almost every night playing bunga api in kampung. Reminded me of the times when I was small. Sigh #funtimes #sometimesimissbeingakid.

IMG_9272Pagi raya.
Saya nak mintak maaf kalau banyak sangat membebel. Pastu nak mintak bag LV lagi boleh? Heh.

IMG_9253I decided to wear something simple and “Kedahan”. Top and skirt both from Mimpikita, which I got from FashionValet (was lucky to grab that Rumi top even though it was a size bigger, because it was sold out so fast!)

IMG_9277My girls in these adorable little scallop bow kurungs from ButtonMyButtons. My favourite so far!

And last but not least, family photo!

(For more Raya pics, can just view my Instagram la ok #sopemalas).

I would like to take this opportunity to wish happy Eid Mubarak to all of you and I hope this Raya would bring an abundant of joy and happiness to you and your loved ones. Do forgive my wrongdoings and umm.. for also not updating my blog regularly. :|

Stay safe, people!

Ariani Lebaran 2015

Salam Ramadhan all!

It’s the third day of Ramadhan today. Alhamdulillah, so far so good. But time flies so fast, huh. It felt like I just wished you guys happy new year last month… and suddenly half a year has passed! Let us strive to make the most of this Ramadhan so that it doesn’t slip away just like that.

Anyway, a few days before Ramadhan, I attended Ariani Lebaran Fashion Show at Mandarin Oriental KL. It was my second time attending Ariani’s fashion show and I was looking forward to it because their events are always so big and grand.

IMG_6441Love the Moroccan theme. Everything is so bold and bright!

This year’s event was even more extravagant as Seri Paduka Baginda Raja Permaisuri Agong Tuanky Sultanah Hajah Haminah was there, as well as other important guests including Toh Puan Datuk Seri Utama Hajah Majimor binti Sharif, Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil and Datin Seri Hamidah Khamis.

IMG_6458And then there’s us, with Shea. Hehe

IMG_6469With the rest of the bloggers. I’m pretty sure you know who is who!

Ariani has been in the Muslimah fashion industry for 8 years now, with various tudung choices for all ages. This year’s fashion show showcased over 40 designs from their ‘Graceful Lebaran’ and ‘Lavish Lebaran’ collections. These collections feature lots of plain and printed shawls in vibrant colors, as well as pastel hues. Lace, Swarovski crystals and embellishments add a touch of luxe in their ‘Lavish Lebaran’ collection.

TDP_5902They also have telekung collection now

Those beautiful jubahs and dresses you see on the models are some of Ariani’s ready-to-wear collection, which they had just launched recently. They are all affordably priced, and best part is, they are now available online at

Yes guys, you can now shop for Ariani at the comfort of your home! Yay to more online shopping choices! #iloveonlineshopping

SK-II Facial Treatment Essence Giveaway!

Ok guys, I know I’ve been a very bad blogger lately. I haven’t been updating my blog in ages! Sorry about that. It’s just that I’ve been a bit busy (and super exhausted being a SAHM) and umm… I got so addicted to Instagram that I’ve kinda forgotten about my blog. Tee hee. Plus, we just got back from our family trip last week so that explains my short hiatus. Will blog about the trip soon.

Right now, I’ve some awesome news for you guys. I’m giving away my ultimate beauty product; the one that I’ve been using for the past 4 years – the amazing SK-II Facial Treatment Essence 75ml (worth RM229) to 5 of my lucky followers!

Here’s what you need to do:

1) Go to SK-II Pitera House at The Square, Publika.

2) Take a selfie photo of yourself at the SK-II Pitera House (or get someone to take a photo of you).

IMG_5756Well, something like this.

3) Upload your selfie photo on your Instagram and include these hashtags: #izachangeskindestiny and #skiipiterahousemy. Remember to tag me to your photo as well (make sure your account is not private).

That’s it! This contest has been running since last Tuesday (7th Oct) and will end on 14th October 2014, which is next Tuesday. Still got time!

In case you’re wondering what the heck is a Pitera House, it’s actually SK-II’s first ever pop-up store that features a Discovery Gallery where visitors could discover and learn more about SK-II. If you’re new to SK-II, you really gotta come here (and join the selfie contest)! If you’re already an SK-II user, you should swing by too because they’re having promotions on their products – both women and men.

I went to the launch of the Pitera House yesterday. There were personal skin stories from local celebs and supermodels, as well as a mini concert, featuring Atilia Haron and Fynn Jamal. And there were macarons too! Heh heh #foodiealert.

Dragged my husband to the event as well because he has been neglecting his skin so I was hoping he would at least terbuka hati to cleanse his face because he didn’t even use any skincare product (men, right). Bila naik pimple seketul baru nak cemas huhhh.

IMG_5709Checking out the Discovery Gallery. I was given a simple quiz and was told that there’d be a mystery gift if I manage to answer all correctly (I got all correct and received SK-II photo album wee!).

IMG_5722Here’s an interesting experiment using apples and banana slices to show how SK-II Facial Treatment Essence protects the skin from oxidation.

IMG_5725As you can see, one half of the apple turned brown after being exposed to the air within a few minutes compared to the other half apple that was dipped with SK-II Facial Treatment Essence (FTE). And the banana slice that was soaked in SK-II FTE was protected from oxidation and almost didn’t turn brown at all as compared to the ones in water and brand X essence. This concept applies to our skin as well. SK-II FTE helps to protect our skin from free radicals that can cause pigmentation, spots, wrinkles, aging and dull complexion. It’s never too late to start using FTE guys!

IMG_5789There’s also Magic Ring test which is an in-depth skin analysis based on your skin’s texture refinement, firmness power, spot control, wrinkle resilience and radiance enhancement. It could even determine your skin’s age!

IMG_5791*ehem* Hello my name is Iza and I’m a 24-year-old mom of 2 girls. Hehe

IMG_5823I didn’t know SK-II has CC Cream as well! Must be their new product. Tested it on my skin and I’m liking the light texture and coverage.

IMG_5845My husband also did the Magic Ring test and I managed to hasut him to try some of the men’s product. Now let’s just hope he’s rajin to use them everyday.

If you want to find out more on how you can take charge of your skin’s destiny and transform your skin to crystal clear, do come to the SK-II Pitera House at The Square, Publika from 10am to 10pm.  You can get a complimentary skin check with the Magic Ring test and join the selfie contest to win yourself a bottle of SK-II Facial Treatment Essence. It’s only for a week, guys. Don’t miss this chance!

I will pick the 5 most creative and beautiful shots and the winners will be announced on my Instagram on 21st October 2014.

Good luck!

Petrosains Science Festival

So there was Petrosains Science Festival in KLCC last week. Did you guys know?

It was a week-long festival, happening from 15th to 21st September 2014, and it was open to everyone.

I got the chance to attend the media launch of this Science Festival at Petrosains KLCC the other day. This festival was launched by Yang Berhormat Datuk Mary Yap Kain Ching, Deputy Minister of Education 1.

This year’s Science Festival theme is ‘Music, Arts and Science’ with hope to attract and inspire the public to understand science with a broader appreciation that includes science and arts. Visitors can expect various fun and educational activities for children, youth and parents alike, such as hands-on science workshops, immersive talks and forums, entertaining music and performances, and colorful displays of artworks.

I think this is a great way to encourage people especially children and youth to appreciate science because science is all around us and this festival could give them a holistic and enriching experience.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAThere was also a live performance that combined music, art and science at the media launch. I thought it was cool!

Some of the fun activities at the festival include baking (cheesy cheesecake, cupcake art, yummy cookies), pop-up art cards, under the microscope, world of robot martial art (LEGO Mindstorms), shadow puppet creation and many many more.

Sigh, too bad we couldn’t join the festival. My girls would have enjoyed it. Next year, maybe!
