My girls (especially Ayra) love to play pretend cooking and baking with Play-Doh, so I decided it’s time to let them bake real cookies!
They didn’t make the whole thing la – SIL and I made the cookie batter first, and the girls helped to cut and decorate them. They loved it! We made Nutella cookies using a recipe that my BIL found on the internet. It was SO quick and easy, using only 3 ingredients!
1 cup Nutella
1 cup all-purpose flour
Beat all of the ingredients in a mixing bowl until they become a dough (we used a hand mixer). You can shape it into 1-inch flattened balls, but we decided to do something more fun – using cookie cutters and later decorate them!
I just let my girls decorate the cookies with as many Smarties as they wanted. They put 1-2 Smarties on each cookie at first, but later added some more when they saw there were so many Smarties left. Raina even “decorated” the baking tray with Smarties (which I later removed them, of course).
The cookies turned out not so bad. Ok, maybe a tad keras. They’re not sweet at all (which is a good thing, I suppose) – just a hint of sweetness from the Nutella. I made a second batch with chocolate chips sprinkled on top and they were a lot yummier.
Overall, it was a fun baking experience. My girls enjoyed it very much and surprisingly, they didn’t make any mess!
